Terms of Service

The service

Harkwire ("the service") converts email newsletters into private podcast episodes. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have a Google account to use this service.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your Harkwire account. You must not share your private podcast feed URL with others — it is for your personal use only.

How content reaches us

You choose which newsletters to include either by selecting them from our public directory (we fetch them via RSS) or by subscribing them to a unique forwarding address we issue you. We never request access to your email account, and we only ever process messages you explicitly route to us.

Acting on your behalf

When you ask us to subscribe to a newsletter from the directory, you authorize us to submit your forwarding address to that newsletter's signup form on your behalf. You can remove any source from your dashboard at any time.

Subscription and billing

The service costs $1.99 per month, billed through Stripe. New accounts include a 7-day free trial. You can cancel at any time from the billing page or Stripe Customer Portal — your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

Content and intellectual property

The podcast episodes generated by the service are AI-produced summaries of content you have subscribed to. You may use these episodes for personal consumption only. The original newsletter content belongs to its respective authors and publishers.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Redistribute or publish your podcast episodes publicly
• Use the service to process emails that are not newsletters
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the service
• Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download episodes

Service availability

We aim for daily episode generation but do not guarantee uptime or delivery timing. The service depends on third-party services (publishers' RSS feeds, inbound email routing, AI providers, TTS providers) that may experience outages beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of extended disruptions.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for missed episodes, inaccurate summaries, service interruptions, or any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months.

Account termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the billing page, which permanently removes all your data.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice in the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
